Patricia Apollonia Kotero has been model and actress in America over a long period of time. She is known for co-starring in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the singer in the girl group Apollonia 6. Apollonia was given the title of an actress and female singer by Prince. In the '80s Apollonia was one of numerous artists who benefited from Prince. She was born Patricia Kotero in Santa Monica California in 1959 her career began as a model and actress in the late '70s with a role on the television show CHiPS. In 1984, she was chosen to play the lead female in the film Prince's Purple Rain. During that period, he also changed his name. Also, she replaced Vanity and the trio Vanity 6 in the film. The trio performed in the film with the name Apollonia 6 She made more of an impact on the charts as Prince's partner in Take Me with You, a duet from his soundtrack. Kotero broke up with Prince when they fell out over the future of Apollonia 6. In the wake of appearing in minor film (and reportedly refusing to participate in her role in the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon) her name was mentioned and she was cast in the 1985-1986 show on television called Falcon Crest. Apollonia finally released her debut album in 1988, but the fairly pedestrian set of R&B/dance songs failed to make much impression on people who buy music and the album soon vanished from sight. She remained active (if somewhat under the radar) in the role of actress throughout the following decade, appearing in small film roles on television and even issued an exercise video. Apollonia's album Stay With Me was released in 1997. After going back to college and obtaining an award for filmmaking, she founded her own production business. Apollonia is an incredibly talented woman. She was a former actor, singer and model. She is renowned for her role in the movie Purple Rain.
